Kia ora! I’m running for the Pukehīnau/Lambton Ward to make housing more affordable and our city more vibrant
Wellingtonians have told me loud and clear that they want a city that’s affordable, vibrant, safe, and easy to move around. I’m ready to deliver on that vision and build a city where everyone can thrive.
I’ve been an advocate for healthy and affordable housing ever since I moved to Pōneke. I have previously served as the President of Renters United and over the past term on Council I have secured better support for renters, enabled more housing in our District Plan and supported the construction of 183 new affordable apartments in our city centre.
Our city also needs to take urgent action on climate change. This term on Council I led the decarbonisation of our pools which will significantly reduce our emissions and save us money. Our city needs further investment in our public and active transport to create a city that’s easy to move around and leaves a world where our tamariki can thrive.
As your councillor I will be committed to:
Accelerating the development of green space within the inner city to support communities who call the central city their home.
Delivering transformational transport projects like our second bus spine that will make getting around the city faster and more affordable.
Enabling more mixed use developments so our street fronts become vibrant places for communities, our hospitality and retail sectors.
Extending our affordable housing programme to increase the availability of affordable apartments within the city centre at no cost to ratepayers.
